The Zakat Committee has been active since 1981 and continues to serve the needs of the less fortunate members of society, both Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis, who are unable to meet their family’s needs due to unemployment, lack of a provider, or health issues.
Aligned Sustainable Development Goal:
SDG 1: No Poverty – Eliminate poverty in all its forms everywhere.
Platform for Action Focus: Women and Poverty
Timeline: 1981 – Present
Results
- Number of Beneficiaries:
The committee provides financial assistance to approximately 1,000 families of both Kuwaitis and residents.
